Pip on a museum fieldtrip
In 1988, Jo and Pip joined me on a museum field trip to Bittangabee Bay.
Bittangabee Bay is located on the far South Coast of New South Wales. It had been raining heavily and on the way down the coast we drove our Subaru along the flooded highway between Narooma and Pambula being quite frightened as we felt the car being lifted and losing contact with the road. At Bittangabee Bay we all camped in tents in the public camping area. We collected fishes by day and sat around the campfire at night. The photo shows Pip being bathed in one of the fish sorting tubs. The second photo shows Pip in the middle of the wetsuit clad divers. The idea behind the trip was to fill a 'collecting gap' in specimens from the NSW south coast. The third image shows Jo looking after Pip and Sam Leis. The last image shows Pip and Obi at Mt Kaputat. It has nothing to do with the fieldtrip (for which I have no more images), but shows the Subaru that we drove through the flood waters.
